Things Are Not Really So good!
Some people think the war on terror is over and our enemies have decided to be nicer to us. This blind-eye notion is offset by the reality of today. Remember the Fort Hood Massacre, the Underwear Bomber? Gabrielle Giffords, the former was a radical Muslim terrorist and the latter a radical Muslim terrorist and the last a goofy left wing liberal. Surely this is chance coincidence. The former killed 13 and wounded dozens on a huge Army base that is home to over 57,000 soldiers. The middle was able to get on a plane along with 80 grams of PETN in his shorts.
On January 8, 2011, Giffords was shot in the head outside a Safeway grocery store in Casas Adobes, Arizona, a suburban area northwest of Tucson, during her first "Congress on Your Corner" gathering of the year. A man ran up to the crowd and began firing, hitting nineteen people of whom six died; a twentieth person was injured at the scene, but not by gunfire. None of this should be tolerated by America.
The suspect, identified as Jared Lee Loughner, a known goofer, was detained by bystanders until he was taken into police custody. The Feds charged Loughner with killing federal government employees, attempting to assassinate a member of Congress, and attempting to kill federal employees. Why a piece of scum like him gets any press time is a negative tribute to how bad things have gotten in America.
Giffords's Congressional intern, sharp as a tack, Daniel Hernandez Jr., provided first aid assistance to her immediately after she was wounded. He saved her life. She was taken to the University Medical Center of Tucson in critical condition, though she was still conscious and "following commands" at the time. What a phenomenally resiliant person!
In the first two cases as I recall, the Prez called them isolated incidents. In other words, don't blame Al Quaida or the radical Muslims. After the third, the Prez tried to blame the Tea Party but nobody bought that either. Many people died or many people may have died, in these "isolated incidents," but there was no beer summit. The beer summit of course occured because a white radical policeman stopped a black friend of the Prez from entering his own house under suspicious circumstances. How about a little honesty from the WHite House?
Well, that was the story before and after the beer summit. The message from all this is that if we really want to keep America healthy and safe from the bad guys, don't jump to conclusions, no matter which way you feel. So far, the Prez is 0 for 3 on guessing right. I say this because when you hear him speak you feel guilty that you have not offered up your first born. Fear not any longer, IMHO, the Prez lies more than he tells the truth.
By they way, PETN is a compound that is a key ingredient in the plastic explosive Semtex and 80 grams was enough to put a big hole in the Airbus 380. Is the war on terror over? Seems to me that they still want to kill us and we should not dally with PC while others want to take our lives en masse.
Hey, look at the Director of Homeland Security, our good friend, former AZ Gov., Janet Napolitano. Though she appears to be merely misdirected, and that would be the President's fault, she acts as if she has one of those cushy state department jobs such as the Ambassador to Puffy Puffy. No sooner was she in the job than she prohibited the use of the word "terrorist." That says something about her belief that she has a real job and the job is to prevent terrorists from attacking inside the US.
Did Ms. Napolitano feel that terrorism was no longer a big deal, so why scare people with the term? Why else did she come up with a new term to use instead, "man-caused disaster.” Or again, was she misdirected? If she were the Ambassador of Puffy Puffy, all this would be fine, but she is the Director of Homeland Security, one of our highest ranking government officials.
Director Napolitano and her team have produced documents which identify the "terrorist" types of which they are concerned. Between 9/11 and January 2009 she came to believe that it was not the type of people who attacked us on 9/11 of which the US needed to be concerned. You may recall that in 2009, she released a report that noted who gave her the most cause for concern. It turns out is was folks like you and me. Her record since is not much better.
The list Napaolitano identified as potential terrorists as you may recall included returning veterans, pro-life individuals, and other regular Americans. She felt or was directed to feel that Americans pose a greater threat to our homeland security than the radicals who commit acts of terror. When elected to the Senate, I will work to remove Ms. Napolitano from her seat in whatever way I can. She is a disgrace to the US and she is a threat to the well-being of the US in her current position. We do not need leadership that is blind and dismissive to the kind of real threats that we face today.
We must remember that there are terrorists and they want to kill us. When somebody- anybody, any entity, at all, is determined to kill you, a state of war exists. This is not your choice. Their next attack will be another battle in a big war whether Janet Napolitano or Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, or Robert P. Casey believe it is so---like it or not.
Ambassador Alan Keyes writes that "the doctrine of terror is the opposite of the moral principle our country is based on, that our rights come from God and must be exercised with respect for the authority of God – beginning with the right to life, which no one, for the sake of any agenda, has the right to disregard. Do we really adhere to that principle, or not? If we do, will we have the courage to defend it. "
I have written a number of books that delineate my feelings on the troubles America is now facing. My newest book is Americans Need not Apply! I love America, and I know if you are this far down on this article on this Web site, you too love America.
