Why Should You Vote for Brian Kelly?
Question: I have read a lot of the stuff on your site and, other than that you don't seem to be a normal Democrat, and I am not so sure about that, why should I vote for you?
Answer: Thanks for the question. I wrote many of the things on this site myself so I am not sure if you mean all of them or just some of them. If you have really read them all, please let me know what it is that disturbs you.
I am not sure that I can convince anybody that I am worthy of their vote. The fact that an ordinary guy permits himself or herself to go through this process, it is so painful, in my opinion, that ought to be enough. I believe in a representative democracy it ought to be easier for all Americans to run for office. Let me take a crack at this question though it intrinsically annoys me. Don't hang up early on this... OK?
About being a normal Democrat, perhaps you are right. I don't seem to be one because I am not in today's thinking. The Democrats have changed, not me. I'd like to think that I am how Democrats once were when my dad was a staunch Democrat and he convinced me to change from Independent to Democrat. Perhaps Democrats should be that party again.
The key phrase in all of this is "for the people." Democrats had always been for the people. It was always implied that the people were Americans. Today, Democrats have an extremely hard left agenda like as if Russia was a good place to live. I do not think that way. Since Progressivism, Socialism, and Communism have proven to be bad for the people, wherever they are brought forth, a Democrat Party that is hard left is for just a few people. It is not for the common, hard working, regular American person.
Your parents and my parents would have disdain for a party that seems, as its goal, to assure people they can be dependent on government and all will be OK. That is not my Democratic Party.
Where Have All the Good Jobs Gone?
Whenever socialism is attempted, it fails miserably. See Cuba, Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe for further information. The US was built on economic freedom and that is why it has always been the largest, most prosperous economy. Countries that are relatively free in economic terms tend to grow much faster. So, do any of us think that more Obama style crippling progressive regulations will help any time soon?
These are really tough economic times. Job losses are almost as bad as during the Great Depression, and there appears to be nobody at home in the government as far as helping private industry create jobs. A plague of fiscal irresponsibility is gripping the nation and it won't let go because at least 67 Senators from the 111thCongress have yet to face their public. Like the 33 that felt the deep roasting breath of the people, these 67 will have their day, but they seem to believe that they are immune.
The public did a reasonable job of cleaning the House in 2010 but even there, we still have work to be done. Pennsylvanians should be proud of the work we did to help stop the slide to socialism in the House. One thing is for sure with socialism, no jobs are necessary.
Millions of Americans today worry about simple things like how to pay their mortgages, feed their families, and heat their homes. Washington, like Nero while Rome was burning, is fiddling its way in a sea of inexperience and / or just plain incompetence. If there were smart men in Washington doing what they are doing on purpose, it would be criminal! We would put them all in jail! Wouldn't we? Yes, we would!
Which Senator ? Carl Romanelli or Robert P. Casey Jr.
Pennsylvanians Need to Instruct Their State Lawmakers To Permit Democracy in Pennslyvania!.
Robert Patrick "Bob" Casey, Jr. was born April 13, 1960. Right now, he serves as the senior U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania. He was elected in 2007 as a Democrat, having solidly defeated Rick Santorum in the General Election. But some very dark shadows loom over his legitimacy. The Press in Pennsylvania is so kind to the Democratic Senator, however, that many people may not even know Casey has some dark shadows. Casey is a local hero.
In mid May 2011, for example, Students for Life and the Cardinal Newman Society sent a letter to the president of Villanova University, Father Peter Donohue. Casey was scheduled to receive honors at Villanova's Commencement. The letter urged the Catholic university to rethink honoring Casey due to the his pro-choice voting record. Casey insists that he is pro-life but his record indicates that is a lie.
In fact, there are a number of shadows about Senator Casey that are not very well known. Many Pennsylvanians for example, are unaware that besides Rick Santorum, Mr. Casey had another challenger in 2006. A Wilkes-Barre native from the Green Party named Carl Romanelli decided to run in the 2006 general election.

The FAIR Tax is a fair solution
Bye Bye 16th Amendment, the Corporate Tax, & the IRS!
The Fair Tax
How does the 16th amendment help business? It authorizes the "progressive" income tax. We all know that more than a mechanism to feed the government's need to defend us, and to enable highways to be built and other things that individuals cannot do by themselves, the income tax is used for wealth redistribution.
The workers somehow do not like that, but the non-workers, especially the deadbeats, really do. It is good to help the helpless. It is not good to make people helpless. So, it is not good to help make poor people out of those who otherwise would be fruitful contributors to their own lives. Yet, we know this is what government does all the time. The sixteenth amendment provides the funding for the big government appetite.
The notion of giving to those who should not need anything returns nothing to the people. The government really decides way too much for the people. And, the government is mostly full of dunderheads, blockheads, and pigheads who don't know their back end from a hole in the ground.
The income tax is a convenient vehicle to manage the people's purchases via tax exemptions, credits, and deductions. How does government know what is good or bad for you or for me? We know they use the three branches of government to determine this information. Again, they use their elete DBP team trio-- (dunderheads, blockheads, and pigheads).
Who Do You Think You Are?
Question: Who the heck do you think you are coming out of retirement, never having been in government or politics, other than one failed attempt for Congress, challenging one of the finest Senators Pennsylvania ever had. Shouldn't you just stay retired?
Answer: Thank you for the question. I know who I am. I am really not excited about the prospects of picking up, uprooting my family, and heading to Washington. I worked for several years in New York when I was with IBM, but I was only 21 years old at the time. When IBM chose to transfer me to Scranton, PA., I was very happy to come back home to Northeastern PA (NEPA), to join my father and mother and brothers and sisters --- who all lived close by. Family is very important in my life. I have lived in NEPA all my life, other than those few years.
I am 63-years old but I seem 21 in my mind. I am so much smarter now than when I was really 21. Growing old has some great benefits which can only be learned by growing older. And, yes, in my life, the "wiser" part came right along with it.
I feel that I have something to offer to my country and it is the right time in my life to help. I am no longer twenty-one years old, and I know a lot more about life than when I first worked in Utica, NY. I am wise enought to not want to be a politician and I promise not become one. Moreover, I think that the government of the people is too important to leave it just to politicians. Maybe that gives you an idea of who I am. If you are still reading, it gives me an idea of who you are!
If I were not so upset with our National Government, and its elite demeanor, and its unresponsiveness to the people, I would not feel the need to run for this important office. Since it is a six year office once elected, I do not plan to ever run for office again. I plan to be elected as your US Senator, but of course, that is up to you.
Why are you running for the Senate?
Answer: That is a very good question?
First of all, I have not yet made the decision but I am close. Two words can summarize why I would be motivated to run for the Senate in Pennsylvania:
1. Liberty
2. Freedom
As a husband and father, my family is very important in this decision. Four years ago, in the Congressional decision, I considered running and my family and I discussed it at length and I decided not to run. Then two years ago, for the run against Paul Kanjorski, I got major encouragement from my family, though there was still some trepidation about the potential impact on our family unit. We'd like to remain reasonably private and regular people. At the same time, there are other factors.
This time, more than a year later, I am seriously considering running for the Senate of the United States of America. My family agrees that things are not as good in America as we would like. They would prefer that one of their uncles would step forward so that we could have honest government. My family and your family know that our biggest problem is our representation in the House and the Senate. We have sent away numerous representatives who have dishonored us and so there is very little trust that either House of Congress will do the right thing. The safe approach for America is that Congress must go, and one of our trusted family members should take over their vacated positions.
I would be happy to defer my candidacy to a like-minded person if one shows up. Short of that there are a lot of things that are wrong with our country.
Why Casey Shouldn't Run Again!
Are you sure Robert P. Casey is a good man?
He sure looks nice... but....
Robert Patrick "Bob" Casey, Jr. was born April 13, 1960. Right now, he serves as the Senior U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania. He was elected in 2006 as a Democrat, and began serving in 2007. He solidly defeated Rick Santorum in the General Election, no ands or ifs about that.
But, because he so aggressively worked to remove a green party candidate from the ballot using funding from the State of PA when he was the Treasurer, there are many who speculate his allegiance to Barack Obama has less to do with their bowling prowess than it does with Obama being able to offer a Presidential Pardon if the Senator finds himself in the "Bonusgate" Big House.
Many do not know that Mr. Casey had another challenger from the Green Party named Carl Romanelli. The story of Casey’s poor treatment of Romanelli is available in another article on this site. Casey’s contumelious treatment of Romanelli is certainly cause for any freedom loving Pennsylvanian to throw Senator Robert P. Casey Jr. out of office at your first opportunity. To permanently stop the challenger from the Green Party, Casey threw Romanelli under the bus’s big wheels while the bus was still moving.
Worker Visas Take Too Many American Jobs
America should take care of Americans first and not give foreigners advantages over US citizens.
The US Visa programs have been used by corporations and a complicit Congress & President to sell out American intellectuals and skilled service workers and perhaps even worse than that, recent American College graduates. The scam continues even now while Americans are unemployed in record numbers. The Visa Program had noble beginnings and there is no obvious problem with the type of people who come in on visas. However under certain visa types, employers get a big bonus as they can access foreign technical talent for slave wages while putting well schooled and talented Americans out of a job.
When I was an active IT Consultant, one of my clients was able to obtain an H-1B visa for an executive from South Africa. He was a very bright guy. They were not the nicest of employers. His salary was about 1/3 of the other executives. Why was that? Because he was in many ways an indentured servant to the company. If he messed up or made any demands, they held the rights to his visa, and they could deem that he be sent back to South Africa at the drop of a hat.
As a demonstration of how endearing this company was to this foreign national, when he finally became a citizen, he immediately gave his notice and moved to Florida. They could not do without him. You know what they say about payback. They agreed to pay him a full executive salary while in Florida so that he would run their sophisticated purchasing software over the Internet for them while he had a real full time job in Florida. Some stories work out well. Could not have happened to a lousier bunch of guys.
Will Progressives Ever Get It?
“Have all you like, somebody else is paying?”
Were you ever in a conversation with a friend with opposing political views, and he or she would not accept even the simplest premise for compromise if it went against their ideology? Sometimes it is tough even to enjoy a beer under those circumstances.
Why is it that despite all the logic in the world being on your point of view and the case you build, there are some people that would rather be way wrong than to accept it?
If they think orange is a conservative color, it is the only color they dislike. Do you know people like that? If you told them the rich pay enough taxes, they would come up with nine million stories about how the poor are poor because the rich are rich. Their solution always is to make the rich, unrich, and make the poor, unpoor.
I have another conundrum going on in my personal life this year and I am having two-way conversations with myself about an important matter. I am taking the side of me, and the other me is taking the side of what I expect from my liberal progressive friends. Yes, I have many of them as ideology and likeability are not the same. But, don't worry about me.... I'll work it out. In the meantime consider the fine American brews at the Menger hotel across from the Alamo. Tell 'em Teddy sent ya!
What Happened to the Democratic Party?
What Happened To the Democratic Party?
An Essay By Brian Kelly
Would the hard working parents of the baby boomers not be surprised?
Something happened to the Democratic Party since I first joined. I was just twenty-three years old. I spent my first two years as a voter registered as an Independent and then my father helped me understand that in PA, being Independent meant that I could not vote in the primaries. So, I changed from Independent to Democrat, like my dad. We were very close and talked a lot about how things were in America and in the neighborhoods for years and years.
Before my dad passed away, he and I spent a lot of time talking about the way things had changed in the Democratic Party. We both noticed the big change. The change was not good. It moved the party into being more and more progressive / socialist and the party no longer stood for individual liberty and freedom. In many ways, the Democratic Party moved so far left that it left even the liberals far behind in the rear view mirror. What had been liberals compared to these new progressive / socialist Democrats were actual conservatives. Under today's norms, JFK would be classified as a conservative. Like most Americans growing up in the 1960s, JFK remains as one of my heroes.
My father, though never a rich man, loved the American dream. As part of those who believe in the dream, my dad believed deeply that we should all work hard, get the best wage that we can, and we should be able to keep what we earn. As a brewery worker, my dad thought much like other hard laborers in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and that included the miners.
Dan Flood Endorses Brian Kelly for US Senate
Dan Flood Is the inimitable Congressman from Northeastern pennsylvania.
Some of you may have heard that Brian Kelly does a reasonably fine imitation of the Congressman. Kelly also has a mustache.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is a fine day in Northeastern Pennsylvania indeed. Today we were able to obtain through processes known only to a few special people what appears to be a bonafide endorsement of Brian Kelly for US Senate by none other than the former Maestro of Wyoming Valley himself, Congressman Daniel J. Flood.
Click here to hear the Congressman from the past offer some comments about himself and a person --- yes I did say hear.... Well, let's let the Congressman tell you himself... sorta
US Education Sucks!
Why is the federal government dictating educational precepts and policy to states, the foundation of our republic, when the fed, the biggest bully in the world, can't get much of anything right?
Eliminating federal involvement in K–12 education is one of my top domestic priorities for education. The Constitution offers no provision for federal meddling in education.
Ron Paul says that, "It is hard to think of a function less suited to a centralized, bureaucratic approach than education. The very idea that a group of legislators and bureaucrats in D.C. can design a curriculum capable of meeting the needs of every American schoolchild is ludicrous."
As the federal government has exerted more control over education, what has happened? I don't need to tell you because you know. "The deteriorating performance of our schools as federal control over the classroom has grown shows the folly of giving Washington more power over American education." Do you really want an American bureaucrat determining the education your child receives. When were the children of your favorite last politician, from state offices to the White Houses so pleased with the system they created that they insisted that their children realized the benefits? Actually, that's Washington-speak for saying, "hey, they won't send their kids to those schools. Doesn't that tell it all? So, why should we?
The Second Amendment--The Right to Bear Arms?
Keep your guns. The people have the right of self-protection and the founders expected that good government would not last and would need to be replaced. The people have the right to form a new government when the old government rots in place.
The last stanza of Cheyenne, a TV western hero played by Clint Walker is:
"Move along, Cheyenne --- Next pasture's always so green. Driftin' on, Cheyenne don't forget the things you have seen, And when you settle down where will it be? Cheyenne! Cheyenne!"
From Hugh O'Brian in Wyatt Earp:
"Wyatt Earp, Wyatt Earp, brave courageous and bold, long live his fame and long live his glory, and long may his story be told."
Cheyenne Bodie was a drifter who held many odd jobs, and because the West was dangerous, he packed a six-shooter. Wyatt Earp was a lawman, and his job was to take care of the bad guys. As such, he carried a big gun and he knew how to use it.
You may argue with me but there are lots of stories from the old west and from today's America in which the armed have saved their families by being armed.
The Origin of Tea Power!
Countervailing Powers: Unions, Corporations, Government, etc.
Those with power sometimes do not know how powerful they are while those without power know very well how weak they are. The have's always have and the have-nots, have not but they do their best to survive. So it has been from the beginning of time as the law dictates, "survival of the fittest."
Are humans above it all? Is there just a little bit in a human that is animal. Is it possible that part really is not as good in its spirit as man's best friend, the wonderful creature Canis familiaris domesticus, most often referred to simply as dog,. Are humans or dogs more inclined to do the right thing if called upon accordingly? Tough question! I look into my wonderful dog's eyes and I always know which way he is going to go.
As we go back to the turn of the century we find certain humans who had lots and lots of material goods as well as lots of power. These folks were truly captains of industry and they were referred to using that term as well as by the less flattering term of "Robber Barons." We all know who they are from our American History classes. John D. Rockefeller, Milton S. Hershey, J.P. Morgan, Andrew Carnegie, and Cornelius Vanderbilt were the headliner robber barons of the period. They were all shrewd, cunning, and some might add, "heartless" businessmen.
.
These Robber Barons were indeed captains of industry and they were indeed, robber barons.
The Killing Debt
Hello Pennsylvania Residents
Along with many other conservatives on the Democratic and Republican parties, I am very concerned about the impact of the debt on the future viability of the United States. We placed a Congress and a Senate in charge of appropriations over the years and neither side of Congress have been good caretakers. Moreover, neither party has done its job, though the most egregious violations were during Obama and the 111th COngress. Their job would get failing grades in my classroom. This current 112th Congress is a bit better but it is afraid of its own shadow. The 111th was the worst ever. Their public opinion ratings show that the public knows how inept they were. Many are no longer with the OCngress because of their poor showing.
Our own Senator, RObert P. Casey, Jr., a good man perhaps in other ways, has yet to meet one of these huge spending bills, laden with earmarks and pork and paybacks and bribes and corruption, that he has not liked. When the wallet is empty, it is empty... unless, of course your Baptismal name is G-O-V-E-R-N-M-E-N-T.
When your personal wallet is empty and you've emptied the wallets of your neighbors besides, you have an addiction and need help. Let us help the spending addicts in Congress by keeping them home this time out. Let's start with our own six year senator, Robert P. Casey, Jr.
The Intentional Elimination of the Middle Class
The Road to the poor house is in sight, and there is no Bob Hope to block the way.
Let's face it. during this recession, families all over the country have been forced to make tough budget cutting decisions just to make ends meet. Yet, somehow, our elite friends in Congress can't do the same thing? They know they are spending too much. Why don't they stop? Why don't they act fiscally responsible. It is because of one of two reasons: 1. They don't want to or 2. They do not know how.
In either case, it's irresponsible! The American taxpayers deserve better fiscal management than what they get from Congress. The American taxpayers donot represent a bottomless pit of money that Congress can appropriate any way that it wants!
Third World Nation
Since the beginning of our big economic slide, a slide caused by liberal banking laws such as the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), people from even very small European countries look at us now as if we are a third world nation. That makes us the world's newest and the world's largest banana republic. We can thank Barack Hussein Obama for that trick as George Bush thought much more of America than to put her down.
We don't grow many bananas -- at least on the mainland, but we sure have forgotten how to be fiscally responsible. It is shameful that we keep digging a bigger financial hole while our president apologizes at every opportunity for the mere fact that God permits Americans to live on the same planet with those of other nations. After the President's Apology Tour that he undertook shortly after inauguration day, he did all he could to show that he is a world citizen and not an American, and therefore non-Americans can trust him. They apologies for Americans was the gravy of his message.
Debt / Deficit -- Payable to Communist China
The Government Is a Liar
Politicians Are Liars
When I complain about the government, it is not the regular American people who are employed in the process of government that are the issue, it is clearly the leadership. It begins with the President and then Congress and then the entrenched high level bureaucrats. The fact is that Government by itself produces nothing, period. It does create huge bureaucracies of mostly unneeded people, which deprive those who pay their salaries of the liberty os spending their own money.
Government takes and squanders. It mismanages and corrupts while it seeks full control. That is why the founding fathers wanted limited government. Politicians are liars. Under liars in the dictionary is a compaosite peicture of your favorite politicians. As W. C. Fields would say, they have made prevarication an Art. Government is made up of politicians. The Government lies frequently to achieve its objectives.
When the government creates government jobs, who pays for these jobs? They are paid for by an already overtaxed private economy -- by you and by me. Does it not make perfect sense that government would seek to expand its payroll since every new bureaucrat becomes a likely advocate for even bigger government and the entrenched politician and bureaucrats become even more powerful.
The Fair Tax -- An Essential Element for Jobs!
Let's get rid of the IRS. Who would not like that?
"The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration."
Way back in February, 1913, the 16th Amendment was ratified by the states and thus it became a part of the Constitution. As such, mostly everybody who is affected by income tax would like it to go away. Even Congress cannot summarily get rid of it. It will take another amendment to the constitution to make that happen and that is not easy. But, if I am elected your Senator, you can be assured I will push to get the ball rolling as well as the implementation of most parts of the elements of the FAIR tax as well as the reduction in the corporate income tax as discussed in other essays.
America ought to have the lowest corporate income tax so that we can invite companies from across the world to build their plants in America. Americans are OK working in good jobs for companies that like to hire Americans.
All of this fits in with the notion of the Fair Tax. Freeing corporations of their tax burden so they will produce more in the US is a big part of the Fair Tax.
The End of Personal Privacy
The End of Personal Privacy
What a great deal to be an American. So many come here-- legally and illegally. Why do they come? They come because of the truthful promise of hope. America is the greatest country in the world, regardelss of the many who would like to bring us down. By the way, those of you out there who would like to bring us down-- we wish you the best in your lives.
People love the idea of America regardless of whether they like Americans per se. In America, from day one, the idividual has more rights than the state. Of course that was before Mr. Obama became in charge of the state.
Would you ever have believed that any President of the United States, would choose to diminish the rights of the people for his own self aggrandizement. Yet, it is has happened. Have you not seen it? President Obama wants to be the full focus of the nation, and he likes it that way. Can a man who becomes President become so powerful that he can position himself as the savior of America, and all others must fall at his feet? It sure seems that way. In 2010, there are some statistics that suggest the Presient gave more sppeches than the number of days in the year. Maybe he is overexposed. Maybe he must be overexposed.
How about his appointing 16,000 more IRS agents now operating in the country. Do you like the idea of the IRS being the big enforcer for any health infractions you may commit. What if you were not as sick as you told the City Inspector? Should you have to pay for bringing in the government just because you thought you were sick? What if you get too sick? Will that be an offense? Will you be arrested? Will Obama stand up for you?
ObamaCare erodes privacy and expands the use of the IRS in mandating that insurers, employers and government agencies all share with one another your personal financial information. These 16,000 new IRS agents mean business. How about that? But, don't worry, they won't misuse any of your personal data in your file which is now in their files. You can trust them as you can trust all of government.
The Taxer in Chief-- Obama is a very slick man!
The Coming Tax Increases
George Bush is continually criticized for his tax cuts, yet the rich pay almost all the taxes in America. If the rich had not, for example, chosen to fund college loans and college scholarships at the federal and the state level for the last 50 years or more, yours truly and many others like me could not have paid their own way through college, and would be looking for a nice blue collar job someplace -- if the illegals did not have them all by then. In my case, I would probably still be delivering soda from the local soda company.
For their generosity to the country and for many other reasons, I am happy that the rich get to keep some of their money. Their tax rates are already higher than anybody elses, and their percentage is against a much larger number. So, they pay lots more taxes than me and most Americans. They pay huge wads to the government each year. I think the rich pay enough.
Who wants "the rIch," to pay more? More often than not, it is rich liberals, such as Obama and John Kerry, and others, who would fight to the death to keep their own tax shelters. For these people who constantly lament that the rich should pay more taxes, I say, let them pay more. I would welcome the elite progressives, who are rich, such as Kerry and Obama, to send a few extra bucks in to Uncle Sam each year if it makes them feel good. In fact, they can send a lot more if it makes them feel even better.
The question of the day for those wanting to whack the rich is, "If Obama takes all their money, who will he give it to?" Heck, nobody knows what he did with $900 Billion in 2009 Stimulus money? Don't you think we should know where that went?
Obama has two tunes on taxes. 1. "Whack the Rich," and 2. "The Bush Tax Cuts are Bad." There are no melodies and the songs cannot be hummed. He can solve number two easy by providing a set of Obama tax cuts just like JFK did when the economy in the early 1960's needed a lift. He can give the cuts a clever name such as "The Obama Tax Cuts."
The "Bush Tax Cuts" are huge targets for the Obama / Pelosi / Reid administration to get them off the books so the government will be all set to scob the rich. Please note Pelosi is crossed out because thankfully the voters spoke loud and clear that she be stripped of her power in November 2010. It is nice to see that Democracy works.
The Butcher of Lyon
Infanticide is almost at the bottom of the slippery abortion slope!
Years ago it would have been hard for any of us to believe that an intelligent adult human being would permit the killing of a pre-born baby human being in the womb some time before the baby’s birth. Nobody would have believed fifty years or less ago that humans would ever permit such a gross violation of God’s law, “thou shalt not kill.”
Yet, today we see it all the time, and the Supreme Court says it is not against any United States law to take the life of a baby as long as it is in the womb. Many in the United States have dismissed it as fait accompli and something that is and must be. But this is not so and cannot be so. We have no right to kill.
Ironically, the Huffington Post, well known for its “pro-choice” orientation as one of the major backers of Planned Parenthood became pro-life overnight on May 1, 2011. On May 2, the Post published a piece by psychologist Pamela Gerloff insisting on treating each life with dignity — when that life was Osama bin Laden’s. The tiniest infant in the womb has more grace from God than this evil monster who killed thousands of innocent people. It is amazing how twisted pro-choice logic is when a terrorist is involved.
Stimulus & Bailouts -- Bad News for America
When taxes are inherently excessive, they simply are not paid.
Unlike many essays on this Web site, we not only present the problem here but also the solution. Consider the statement above, "when taxes are inherently excessive, they simply are not paid." History has shown that when taxes were reduced from say the 90% burden of the mid 20th century to something reasonable, government revenue increased. Just like you and I, the rich don't want to be ripped off, and when taxes are fair, they choose to pay their fair share. Watch what you demand in taxes from the rich because, by percentage you may win, but by volume you will definitely lose.
After we set up the problem, we will introduce the solution.
Collapse of the Market
Government does not help when it intervenes in anything. When anybody wants something done, the last group they will call onn is the government. Exceptions exist where the governmen has a monopoly -- such as police and military. Look at the people we elect into office. We know at one time they must have had some modicum of intelligence because they were slick enough to get into office.
When government does x to get y, y never comes. From the stimulus bill for example, which was supposed to get the economy rolling and crete tons of jobs, we got high unemployment and an awful lot of pork sausage for a bunch of bungling, self-serving politicians. Was it not sickening to watch them greedily grab their earmarks, hoping to assure future reelection while people were losing their jobs.
Congress has done such a poor job in recent years, and for that matter in years past also, though not so obviously, that it is no wonder fo many see them a simply a pack of buffoons. They are so bad that they are not looked upon as jokesters, they are in fact the jokes. For Congress to get better reviews from the people, it needs to bein to serve the people.
TEA Party Backs Brian Kelly
INDEPENDENCE HALL TEA PARTY PAC ENDORSES DEMOCRAT BRIAN KELLY FOR PA 11TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT
This was such a big event in the 2010 Congressional campaign for Brian Kelly that we repeat it here. We are looking for the endorsement again for the Senate in 2012. TEA parties can pick DEmocrats when they are convinced they are conservative.
Wilkes-Barre, PA – May 7, 2010 -- 11th Congressional District candidate Brian Kelly received the endorsement of the Independence Hall Tea Party PAC. Kelly was on hand to receive the endorsement. When he spoke to the crowd, Kelly was interrupted three times for applause. Kelly is the only Democrat in the three state area (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware) in which the Independence Hall Tea Party Operates, to receive this prestigious endorsement.
The endorsement was announced Sunday April 11, 2010, in Philadelphia.
Taking Back Our Government
A huge government, carried by the people, on our backs.
Can you believe what they are doing to US: Bailouts, Porkulus, Debt, Deficits, Cap and Trade Energy Tax, ObamaCare, Socialism, Government Control, and the list goes on. Is it not time that WE THE PEOPLE take back OUR government and make it work for US again. That was my reason for running for Congress and it is why I am trying to replace Robert P. Casey as the Junior Senator from Pennsylvania. This is the right time.
Government has already grown too big, and it is growing even bigger and its bigness is dangerous to our freedom. I want to help restore good government to America, restore prosperity to all. Lower taxes, limited government, and severely reduced spending will mean that we have learned fiscal responsibility, and everybody has more, not less! Government gets nothing to waste.
Capture Back America
Now it is our turn. It is our American duty to hold our leaders accountable when they do not take seriously their oath to uphold the Constitution. America is not supposed to be a Marxist, progressive socialist nation. It is up to US, the underpinnings of democracy, the people of the United States to not sit still but to take action. It is up to US to become part of the grassroots movements such as the great TEA Party movement and join those who are fed up with corruption and the trashing of the Constitution. It is up to US to reclaim our pride, our country, our America - right now, before it is too late. Don't let propaganda diminish your will to be free.
Speak Softly & Carry a Big Stick -- Defense
Speak Softly And Carry A Real Big Stick!
National Defense
I support a Constitutional approach to foreign policy that ensures a strong national defense. Who can argue that at this moment in time, we have the most powerful, most advanced military in the history of the world. In May, 2011, we saw the impressive Navy Seals demonstrate the stealth capability of the US forces by the taking of the terrorism chief, Osama bin Laden. Nobody in the world can match the power or the technology of the US. Having great leadership to command this force is of the utmost importance.
One can conclude that if we were to fight a war and if we chose to fight to win, boldly, quickly and conclusively, there would be minimal US casualties, and the notch of victory could be hailed.
However, it seems that we are no longer in armed conflicts to win them but instead after decades with no declarations of war by Congress (required by the Constitution), we have been snookered into permitting them to continue unabated. Why not just win them and then they are done? In early 2011, for example, we became embroiled in Libya, with apparently no plan to win so this administration has not yet learned to handle the awesome responsibility of a mighty army.
Solving Jobs & Illegal Immigration Together!
Solving Jobs & Illegal Immigration Together!
Corporations that Cannot Outsource Find Another Way
What a shame for corporate titans who saw their golfing buddies moving huge portions of their businesses offshore to reduce their labor cost. They saw their best friends being able to move their businesses offshore to take advantage of lower wages and additionally, their buds also got "less punitive" environmental conditions. They hoped they could figure out a way that they could create a labor force that was similar to those offshore, but the required their company to stay in America. Despite all the odds of probability plus a negative factor known as the US Constitution, amazingly, they succeeded.
They wanted all of the advantages and none of the disadvantages of offshoring for their companies. They wanted a cheap labor source and a labor force that would not complain at all about the work environment. The overriding problem of course for US home (can't go noplace else) industries such as farming and meatpacking, and even construction was that companies that require "American" workers in America cannot offshore the work to other countries. What a problem! These businesses were stuck in America and therefore, they were forced by geography to hire American workers. Not so fast! How was that unfair to the entrepreneuers?
Not many of us talk about the devastation that taking jobs from America causes to American families. How unfair to American families?
Socialism Is a Magnet for Illegal Immigration
Illegal Foreign Nationals
Illegal foreign nationals sometimes are called illegal aliens or undocumented workers. Nobody minimizes the bravery that they possess as they traverse sometimes multiple countries to cross the Rio Grande in the hope of gaining a better life. Those of you who come with good will, thank you. I wish you well in your lives to the extent that your presence in this country does not limit the lives of American Citizens.
Whether this is true or not, the popular notion about illegal aliens is that they come to America, have babies, live on welfare, and never go home. I don't know whether this is true or not. We do use the term "illegal aliens" to describe those who enter the US illegally. So most use that term to describe them as they are illegally in the country, and they are not citizens,. The fact is that they create a major drain on the middle class in the U.S. and there presence is devastating to those Americans looking for entry level and low-skilled jobs.
From what I have observed, the illegal alien has developed many job skills, especially in the construction trades. Home builders, plasterers, spackling experts etc. in certain parts of the US must be Spanish speaking or they cannot get a job. Most of those who cross the Rio Grande today are not looking to pick berries, though George Bush said a long time ago that they do what we do not want to do. That unfortunately is not true as they have moved on to better jobs and they absolutely do compete with citizens for those jobs.
Site is Built! Thank You for Your Patience.
Hello Fellow Pennsylvanians
Thank you for being here.
I am exploring a run for the Senate of the United States of America from the great State of Pennsylvania.
This site is continually being perfected so that it will be more meaningful to you as time passes.
I have built this site myself. I hope you like it.
One of the objectives in my campaign is to prove that a regular citizen can run for Congress or the Senate without going broke. When I ran for Congress in 2010, I spent $4500 of my own money and each penny helped more and more people know what I stand for and how together we can take back America for the people. I hope to do the same when I make my decision to run for the Senate.
So that nobody has a claim on me, just like when I took no money from anybody in the congressional election in 2010, should I choose to run for Senate, I will limit the amount of giving to $100.00 per person. $4500 was enough to get my message out in in District 11 of PA in which I gained 17% of the vote in the Primary. However, no amount of my own money will be enough for me to finance a statewide campaign and quite frankly, even if I knew what the amount were, I know I could not afford it.
Paying for Obama Largesse
Redistribution of Income -- On Its Way!
How about Lower Taxes and Repeal the 16th Amendment!
Americans and that includes me need protection from unfair and unreasonable taking of their wages and income through excessive taxation. This administration is waiting to get us so far along that we will not blame them when they open the taxation floodgates. If we take none of their gifts, they can never claim us as property.
My advice is to take no gifts even if at first a big government gift may appear to be desirable. Do not be tempted. Try to avoid Obamacare, and if you are tempted with something more obvious like an ObamaPear or even an ObamanApple, give them all the same short shrift.
Remember the serpent! Though the temptation may be great and the poke in the chest (like Eric Massa, former Congressman) may break the skin, hold on to your self respect, and we all can beat this guy. Obama is as tough as anybody the world has ever seen in waging his arguments. Passage of Obamacare was his penultimate victory. it was like adding a million new diehard batteries to his energy level. He is amazing and because of that, he is very dangerous to you and to America. He's a lot like the domineering lover that you could never shake. If you two are happily married now, my apologies.
Red Tape Is a Jobs Killer
Just try starting a small business in the US?
You will face a mountain of laws that say you are not worthy to be in business. That does not sound American to me. How about you? Those who have skipped the skip or danced the dance will tell you that you have to compromise your ideals to get what you want from the government. Is that true?
No matter how good your idea, it will be all but impossible to gain the capital necessary if you are a reasonably unknown entrepreneur. But, if you know somebody who knows somebody who knows a Congressman, they tell me your business can get a boost big enough to get it started. Red tape can be masked for the privileged and those "in the know."
Doesn't that make the fur on the back of you neck stand up straight?
Maybe you don't even need to have a product or service to be successful, but let's not talk about Northeastern PA folklore. You know that is not how it should work and when I am elected as your Senator, I promise to change this paradigm and if I cannot, please send me home on the first bus. OK! I won't give up so fast! But, I will feel like it! I will publish the names of all the people who want to make government corrupt. Then I will work to remove them from government.
Recovering from a Recession---the Bottom Line
Perpetrators of trouble are easily identified.
In other Jobs essays, we discussed the problems and we also discussed innovative solutions from cutting red tape to solutions for offshoring and illegal immigration and others. This essay is the bottom line on how to get the inertia rolling the other way. This is the road to recovery from this unprecedented recession.
We are clearly suffering under a mountain of debt and there are deficits scheduled from here to eternity. Each planned deficit will add substantially to the debt. A Congress controlled by my party has permitted the deficit to skyrocket to just about $1.5 trillion each year and the national debt has more than quadrupled to over $14 trillion. With these big numbers it is easy to get zero fatigue. Take a look at the chart in the above figure to get a picture at how the "me generation" has robbed all of the "you generations" in the future. The number of zeroes are enormous
There are only two groups in America it seems who do not know the basic way to get the United States out of a recession. The two groups are the Legislative Branch (Congress) and the Executive Branch (the President and the Czars and the Bureaucrats). I bet even the Supreme Court knows how but they have to be asked to render an opinion.

Read the Bills
Is three days really enough?
Government waste has gone far beyond outrageous and government corruption is a rotting, bloated stinking pig that has been poisoning us. Many of us were unaware it was even happening. We are now fully aware and It Must Stop!! The trillions of dollars that are being spent on bailouts opposed by the voters, and ahealthcare plan to make America a bankrupt nation have helped put our country in financial jeopardy.
And making matters worse, our lawmakers still do not give themselves enough time to even read the laws before they vote on them. Often they have not been printed and they are asked to read them. The bills do not exist yet they vote on them.
The Obama Medicare Caper
Obamacare Steals from Medicare
On Sunday, March 21, the U.S. House with full Democratic support and no Republicans, voted 219 to 211 to steal over a half a trillion dollars from Medicare -- roughly $600 Billion, but who's counting? I know some of you think the just got rid of Medicare Advantage to pay off AARP for some good moral support in getting Obamacare passed. That also is true but they did steal from the already weak trust fund to give Medicare benefits to thus who never paid into the Medicare system.
Considering that you and I pay a portion of all of our earnings to Medicare and it is taken out and accounted for separately on our pay stubs, the Federal Governmebt just stole $600 Billion from our retirement healthcare plan, and the media and AARP pretend that it is OK! It is not OK!
You know that the government makes everybody who works fork over a penny and a half of every dollar they earn into the Medicare “trust fund.” Actually, it amounts to three cents as the employer matches your contribution. Don't we all expect that to be there to pay for your healthcare at 65 years of age? Sorry, Obamacare just took a big wad of that right off the top to give to those who never paid in. And, nobody complained! Wow!
Once California Dreamin'
The case of the disrespectful Congress person.
In 2008, during the "infamous" Bush II Administration, some of you know I wrote a book called Taxation Without Representation: Can the US Avoid Another Boston Tea Party. You can bet if sales were through the roof, I would have a claim that I started the Tea Party Movement. Instead, I merely herald it as a gift from many to us all.
In 2010, I released an up-to-date version of the same book, but so much has happened since 2008, the book is 50% larger and unfortunately, it is 50% more in price . The premise of the book is that our representatives have stopped representing us and thus, we are in many ways where we were in 1776. Has anybody seen Ben Franklin lately? We need him back and then some.
There are some in Congress who are oblivious to the needs of US, and there are others who just have no time for US, because of the caring that they must do for themselves and their own good fortunes. Is Barbara Boxer one of those? How about Diane Feinstein or Nancy Pelosi?
Offshore Outsourcing Is a Jobs Killer
Jobs Killers Hurt America and Americans
Outsourcing has been with the world for thousands of years. The sale of food, tools, and other goods from one community to another is a form of outsourcing. If you don't grow your own food then you outsource its acquisition. Outsourcing is a necessary facet of every business and it is practiced by every company because nobody can do it all. Offshore Outsourcing as practiced by American corporations, or as it is simply called, Offshoring is simply anti-American. It happens when the business believes it is so important that the workers and the country in which it is franchised, no longer matter.
There were US companies in the 1800s and 1900s who were vertically integrated and thus, they did it all. There was little outsourcing in these companies. Rugged individualism was the credo of the day, and if you could not do it all, you could not compete. These companies took care of their own production, mining, manufacturing from raw materials, building finished goods, shipping the goods, and they sold the end products in their own stores. Many of these companies even went so far as insuring themselves; handled their own bookkeeping and taxes; had their own lawyers etc. Some even designed and built their own buildings as it was viewed as the proper way to expand their enterprises. To do that, they required a major diversity of talent.
