Dedication

To My Wonderful Big Brother Ed

We lost Ed last year at Thanksgiving time.

Ed was an inspiration for me in many ways in my life. He was very handsome and he was very bright. He was the number one student at St. Boniface School.

In fact, he was at the top of the class for eight years, and

he graduated valedictorian.

Ed was very bright at Meyers High School also but, at the time, it was tough financially to gain a college education. He did very well in High School despite from my observations, never picking up a book. Bobby Stanton and Jimmy Malacarne, his lifelong best friends, could vouch for that.

I was thrilled that he agreed to be my sponsor at Confirmation while he was married and living in New Jersey with his new family. And, a few years later, I was just as thrilled that he asked me to be the Godfather to his first child,

Edward J. Kelly III.

Over time, life removes the age differences with siblings and Ed became something for me that he always had been in my life—a best friend. I miss him immensely.

He was a fine man and a fine brother.

His counsel on my writing and political activities was the best and greatly appreciated. He never lost his gifts and his perspective on life.

I was a fortunate man to have a brother like

Edward J. Kelly Jr.

Thank you Lord for giving him to me and my whole family until you called him back.  I bet heaven never found a better combo dart and shuffleboard shooter! But, I also bet for fairness, he has to play on a different team than Dad!

Preface:

I liked the ring of former Presidential candidate Herman Cain’s presentation of his plan so much that when I developed my top three bullets for my US Senate campaign against Robert P. Casey Jr. in Pennsylvania, and all three began with the word reduce, the RRR plan was conceived. The full title of this book of course is RRR: A Unique Plan for Economic Recovery and Job Creation. Along the way to a full set of issues that my campaign addresses, there are an additional three sets of 3 R’s that are also fleshed out in this book.

Unlike the Herman Cain plan, the RRR focuses on many more areas that need to be addressed for us to turn around our economy and stimulate job creation. Cain’s plan addresses a major change in the tax structure. The RRR plan, on the other hand includes taxes but it reaches into critical areas that are impeding economic growth today such as regulations, immigration, and spending. Additionally, the RRR plan suggests that we alter our pure capitalism system into one that is more mercantilist.

Jobs are hard to come by anywhere in the world today including the United States. Even some liberals are starting to say that “you can blame the government for that.”  In this day and age, you can blame the government for lots more than that, and nobody would think you were kidding.

Despite no jobs for anybody else, the US government is growing in terms of employees at a record pace. This is not part of the solution. This is part of the problem. While government grows, there is less and less real work even for government workers. And, so many agencies, even those that originally did good work in their functionary role as well as their advisory role to the President, have branched into areas that now hurt the economy rather than help it. The more of them there are unfortunately, the greater the drag on private sector jobs and the economy as a whole.

I wrote a book recently about eliminating the EPA as it is the poster child for government agencies gone wild. It really was not too long after its inception that The EPA became a monster in size and in its intrusive tactics. The typical victims of the EPA have been small businesses that do not have the legal staff to withstand the continual onslaught. Everyday people have also been affected indirectly through increased costs, but now with the Light Bulb act, the EPA even terrorizes US households.

This is a serious book. I take leave of a serious tone very rarely because if the serious issues we face are not addressed, and the major changes in philosophies that are necessary to bring our problems under control are not considered, we have little reason to expect improvement.

Why did I write this book?

The quick answer is because it reflects my campaign platform.

Our economy has stopped working. Our financial institutions have been forced to lessen their standards while the taxpayer has become the prop between any of government’s favorite businesses and failure. The United States once represented rugged individualism in all we did and only the strong survived. America became the strongest of nations because of that “manly” philosophy. Our government today seems like it is against strength as it attempts, through socialistic, progressive, and Marxist principles to create a society of wimps, in which the American dream can be little more than a handout.

Businesses have obviously decided that the US is not worth it anymore. For PR reasons of course, they are not telling anyone that. They simply don’t want to deal with high taxation, oppressive regulations, and a government that is more pro-union than pro-people or pro-industry. Despite government’s official stance, it has been more than complicit in helping business execute its destructive plans to rid the US of major industry and suffer no consequences.

The RRR plan addresses all of the sticky areas where corruption reins and corporations have been able to undermine what is good for America and Americans. The RRR plan is good for the economy. It is good for the people. It is good for jobs. And, for those corporations that want to sign up to be American-centric, it is good for corporations. It is the solution balm that offers a gutsy, unique, real, and workable path to get America back on its feet. There is nothing like it anywhere else. All we need is the resolve for the RRR plan to make us successful.

America is under attack from within and from without. Government has one objective and that is to grow so that it can control everything and everybody. Corporations are protecting their assets and their viability from a government that would seize whatever it can get from anybody and that includes corporations and their executives. Government has great ambitions. Dollars are the fuel that permits government to grow and prosper. Our government wants more and more and more from people who make less and less and less. On the outside, we have free trade agreements nipping like piranha at all things American, while our own government accepts trade imbalance without a whimper.

Unions help a small percentage of the population and elevate their life style above all others. If 100% of the population were unionized, we all know that unions would become completely ineffective. The people, who do not work for the government or who do not belong to unions are the ones being squeezed most by this economic malaise with dollars being printed on the presses of the US Mint as fast as the paper can be shipped in. The inflationary effects on the poor are worse than any flat tax system you can imagine.

It is time to say STOP. All of us together must say STOP to save our country. We must say STOP to save our lives. No matter whom we are, it is time to STOP. What good will it be even if our side wins, if there is nothing left. We need to come together, adopt the RRR plan and fight for America and not our own special interests. It is time.

I hope you enjoy this book and I hope that it inspires you to take action to help change the way you think about corporations, unions, government, taxes, spending, immigration, mercantilism and whole host of other items that can help America survive this major recession. I hope you digest the entire RRR plan, be willing to adopt it, and add to it your own positive notions.

You can help make the US a far better country.

I wish you the best
