Kelly for US Senate

Brian Kelly  has withdrawn from running as write-in for 2018. He favors Lou Barletta because govt. needs to return to the people! Bob Casey does not represent ordinary Pennsylvanians.  Like Bernie Sanders, Casey is a pro-death socialist. Lou Barletta has Kelly's 100% endorsement. Kelly put this web site together in 2012 when he ran against Bob Casey. Casey would not debate Kelly because he preferred to hide in Scranton. Check the record.

Full Government Control

Obamacare Is Full Government Control!

Your government, also known as the politicians that you elected to represent YOU, have been hiring a ton of bureaucrats to take over control of YOUR healthcare. They began the hiring process with the stimulus bill way back in 2009, and so far, they have several hundred thousand people in just about a year and a half, and they are expected to hire as many as 600,000 by 2013.
Anticipating the passage of Obamacare and not wanting to overburden that budget, they were able to "pre-hire" people using the stimulus bill so that Obamacare could hit the ground running.

These people are being hired to take control of all parts of YOUR life -- not just health and education.  They will tell you how much salt you can use, how much soda or beer you can you can consume, and, believe it or not, how much toilet paper you can use without destroying the eco-system!  Is this representation that you want to live with?  I certainly don't! BTW, it has been reported that Cheryl (one slip per trip) Crowe will be in charge of toilet tissue rationing.

The issue in Healthcare is not healthcare and it is not the uninsured's. The have health care. They just have to go to the ER.  The issue is that the government wants to control the health industry and the bill they passed on March 21, 2010 gives them that control. It is not about healthcare at all. It is about government control.  That's why citizens are up in arms.  Congress in the Health Care bill wants to be able to dole out jobs and create more dependencies and entitlements.

Obamacare 101

A Tough Pill To Swallow

Do we all need health care? You bet we do. But even before the big March 21, 2010 Pelosi / Reid / Obama takeover, the citizens of the US already had health care. In fact, our illegal alien friends also have health care. It's been the federal law since 1986.

Can you think of the expense that would be saved if the freeloaders and deadbeats from other countries were not chewing so much out of our system. Maybe we could actually afford more than just emergency room care for American citizens. By the way, I am for care for the helpless but that is where it ends. I am not for Government being the only health broker in the country because that is where individual freedom ends. Government should never make somebody helpless.

In mid March 2010 before the March 21 bill passed the house,  I had been reading about the supposed myths of Obamacare. In a New York Times article by Paul Krugman, he cites what he thinks are the three myths of Obamacare. From reading Paul Krugman one could get the idea that he does not read newspapers because he is too busy writing his opinion. He happens to like anything the President, the Pelosi and the Reid have to say. That is no myth for sure. His writings are pure Obama propaganda.

The Anxiety and Betrayal of Obamacare

Why were they so anxious?

As you know by pouring through this Web site, I am a conservative Democrat. Therefore, giving the government control of healthcare or any other important aspect of my life does not fit in with my way of thinking.  Healthcare is not for the government. It is for doctors and patients only.  Government simply does not belong. Government under progressives wants to pretend it is the new, modern god, and so the goodness of the American people and our religious inclinations, and our churches, and our charities are no longer necessary.  Charity and helpfulness to our brothers and sisters is not for government. Again, Government simply does not belong. Charity is for the goodness of people, both organized and unorganized to come forth and help the helpless.

So, even though I am a Democrat and even though you may be a Democrat, that does not mean that you or I should have had to give up your freedom to feed huge political egos and give control of our lives in any way to the government. The people run the government and not vice versa. Giving up freedom to government is the antithesis of America and quite frankly, it is why, in addition to separation of powers, the Founders created the Constitution so that we never forget that government is subservient to the people.

Wealth redistribution, Income redistribution, and now, with Obamacare, healthcare redistribution are anathema to the American way. American is a charitable country indeed, and that is why we do not need and do not want the government directing our charitable efforts. That also does not mean that a better healthcare plan cannot be passed in the 112th or 113th Congress. It is my goal to remove the monstrosity of Obamacare from the backs of hard working Americans and fix the problems in the system without giving the federal government any control over our lives. That is my goal.

The following is from the Center for Individual Freedom:

Obama's Seven Deadly Sins

Will America Choose to Forgive or Have Some Tea?

Not long ago, I found myself updating another of my books, Taxation Without Representation, originally penned in 2008 about then current domestic, political, and constitutional issues intertwining the public consciousness. Immersed once again in that vortex of all-too-familiar concerns about our government, I felt compelled to add a few paragraphs about the Obama Presidency in light of the transparent failures of the newly coronated Administration.

I wrote at length about more areas than I expected and before I realized it, the update extended beyond what I would consider a standard update. I knew then that by virtue of its length and current relevance, this work was not a chapter, it actually constituted a new stand-alone book. I am glad that you have selected this book to join me on this journey to preserve American freedom.

In the eyes of Americans across the country, from the blue of the mid-Atlantic to the red of the heartland, Barack Obama is failing. Each passing day erodes his declining and oh-so-determinative poll numbers. Said most simply, the man just doesn’t get it. He likely never will. Barack Obama does not harbor a thought process anything remotely congruent with the collective onsciousness of those he represents, his constituents: US. More and more people recognize his continual diatribes as those of an automaton, glued to technology for his next thought

Bringing Good Jobs Back to America!

Bringing Good Jobs Back to America!

As noted in the Essay on this site titled. "Where Have All the Good Jobs Gone?,"  unemployment in the US for the past two years has been at record levels.  Even the apparent boost in employment as reported by the government to aid in Obama's reelection campaign is suspect, because when an American hists the upper limit of time collecting unemployment, they are no longer counted. Though government may not lie, and that is debatable, they always spin the truth in their favor. The financial collapse we have been suffering created a lull in buyer confidence and of course that resulted in significantly less sales for all companies.  When sales stop, so does hiring. All the tax increases and stimulus plans in the world will not help employment once sales stop.

If buffoons or perhaps my favorite non-action figures, 435 blocks of granite had taken over Congress in 2009, they would have already done better.  If there were a right way and a wrong way to get something done, Congress in all circumstances went the wrong way despite cautions over and over from worried constituents.

When the people said, "no bailouts," Congress responded with TARP and the bailouts. When the people said "no" to the pork and the opportunities for Congress to buy votes for their 2010 and 2012 elections, at a cost over $825 Billion, Congress responded with the stimulus bill. While it was being debated, this bill was rightfully renamed by Republicans as the Porkulus bill. It is a national shame. It was supposed to be a jobs bill. If it created another job, that new job would be lonesome.  Overall, every borrowed dime Obama spent on his stimulus games, contributed in the negative towards the economy as businesses were crying out, "just let us alone."

Americans Need Not Apply!

Americans, hoping to earn a decent living somehow do not qualify!

Irish Need not Apply! Syrians need not apply! Italians need not apply! Spanish need not apply! Polish need not apply! How many of our parents went through tough times in the USA finding bigotry instead of work when they sought employment? You've heard the stories at the dinner table. Eventually our parents all got jobs and America toned down its ethnic prejudices. Today, however, all American citizens are feeling a new kind of prejudice in the workplace. It's an economic prejudice carried out by greedy businesses. It cries out Americans Need Not Apply! You're wasting your time.

Please note, just like it was not the Irish, the Syrians, the Italians, the Spanish or the Polish who were the problem in our country's infancy, the Mexicans, the Costa Ricans, or the Guatamalans are not the problem today. It is greedy businesses and a greedy policial class and in this book, we will show you how and why.

Brian W. Kelly is one of America's most outspoken and eloquent conservative protagonists. He is the author of
Taxation Without Representation, Obama's Seven Deadly Sins, Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!, and many other books. Like many Americans, Brian is fed up with a progressive liberal agenda in Washington that places the needs of illegal foreign workers in front of the needs of Americans. Endorsed by the Independence Hall Tea Party in 2010, Kelly ran for Congress against a 13-term Democrat and, in a three way race he spent just $4500 of his own money and, as a virtual unknown, he captured 17% of the vote. Kelly then supported Republican challenger Lou Barletta, aconservative leader on immigration policy, and helped him win a resounding victory in the general election.

Jobs Make Us All Feel More Important!

Hopefully Brian Kelly will become our next Senator and we will not have to fear anymore.  I know that he knows how to bring Jobs back to PA and the Country at large.  He is one of us. Why not give him the chance to help the people -- US!

On April 19, 2010 Brian sent a manuscript of a new book to his publisher. The title is

Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! . The subtitle is  Where Did They Go?  How Can We Get Them Back?

On May 4, 2010, the soft cover paperback of the book became available for sale at www.itjungle.com/store.html.  If you would like to read this compendium of essays about the Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! problem in the US and NEPA, and you would prefer not having to buy the book, you can almost do that right on this site.  Kelly has packaged a deal for you that you won't believe. You can read the book for free. However, the essays have been updated since the book, so you will have to endure more current information than what was printed. My wife said to say, though true, that was a joke.

Book Preface: Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!

Preface to the Preface:

This is both an essay and a Preface.  All of the essays in this Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! menu have already been packaged into a book titled Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! When you create a book, it needs introductory material. Much of this is packaged in a front matter item called the "preface."  Front matter comes before all of the other material in the book. Typically nobody wants to pay for Front Matter. When they buy a book, they are mostly interested in just the chapter or essay contents.

Anyway, this is no ordinary Preface. As you may know, the whole book titled Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! is free in this section of the site (you just do not get the paper) so without having the preface that I wrote for the book, it would really be incomplete.

This Preface does not have the normal marketing material that is put in to sell a book. Instead, this Preface sets the stage for the need for the book by telling the reader (you and I) through a lot more than anecdotal evidence that they better watch out and they better not pout and they better not cry and in the preface I start telling you why.  If we don't watch him, the President, disguised as Santa Claus will carry off all our jobs in his bag and give them to somebody he knows.  And none of us will get to town again.

Alan Keyes' Contribution

Alan Keyes Is a Patriot

Through his great work and his writings, Alan Keyes has unknowingly contributed to both of the campaigns of Brian Kelly.  The Kelly platform has much basis in the writings of Alan Keyes as Brian Kelly has always been highly impressed with and is influenced by the Ambassador's work.  Kelly sees Keyes as one of America's potentially greatest heroes and one of the best orators, ever.  As a compliment to Barack Obama, Kelly would trade ten Obama Cards for one Keyes card, if he could. Keyes is that special.

All of us have a number of heroes. Brian Kelly's political hero is Alan Keyes, who happens to have been a Republican most, if not all, of his political life. Alan Keyes is a good man, so he is also a hero simply on the human-being front. For decades, he’s been the champion of the unalienable right to life of the innocent unborn and a tireless campaigner against the purveyors of the culture of death.

Keyes made a run for the State Senate against Barack Obama. He lost because he told the truth. He was also a candidate of the American Independent Party in the 2008 Presidential election, but he was not given air time by the media in any of the debates.  Alan Keyes is as good as it gets and America would do well with Alan Keyes at the helm.

"Give the Money Back"

Some of the folks in NEPA may remember in the Congressional campaign of 2010, Brian Kelly came up with an easy solution to the squabbles that Paul Kanjorski and Corey O'Brien were having over campaign financing.  The two were fighting about who was the better fundraiser, and which of these two long-term politicians was the most ethical in squeezing those dependent on them for a livelihood?

The incumbent and the other challenger are shown below:

In the Primary for the 111th Congressional district, Brian Kelly won the lottery for the # 1 name on the ballot and the # 2 man was Corey O'Brien, a Lackawanna County Commissioner, who ran for Commissioner again in 2011, followed by Paul Kanjorski. Since Kelly took no contributions and spent just $4500 of his own money on his campaign, he felt that the field would be almost level if these two politicos decided that they should give the money back.

Napolitano: You Must Hear This!

Judge Napolitano for President!

Oh, but for brave and articulate men and women, we would all be slaves. One of my favorite spokespersons for Freedom in America is Judge Andrew Napolitano.  He is one of the few people who can really fill-in for Glenn Beck and help get that fire going in your gut.

It is our Congress that has given so much power to Unions, to Corporations, and to themselves. About the latter, they don't mind one bit.  If you don't like me or you don't think I have earned the right to represent you because I have never been a politician, please do yourself one favor. Vote out Bob Casey and any Nancy Pelosi / Harry Reid loving Congressman or Senator who has stained the halls of Congress with their deceit and their disregard for the Constitution and the will of their own constituents.

Vote me out also but give me just one term before you do so. That is OK.  I won't mind, but make sure you include everybody in your bum's list who now is in the process of taking away so many freedoms that we may never be able to get them all back.

Jobs Jobs Jobs The Government's Plan

Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!  The Government's Plan?

Hello Everybody. My name is Brian Kelly and I am running for the US Senate. Some may call me a mild mannered professor at a fine Northeastern PA University. But, regardless of what I am called, the message in this essay is Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! And, by the way, like a lot of Americans trying to cling on to a job, I have been dumped after seven years working for the same University. The irony is that I retired three years ago, and they begged me to come back. At 63.5 years old, I thought I was going to end my career at Marywood but things happen. Don't worry, I'll be fine. After about ten years, they had their reasons. I hope to spend the next six years in the US Senate working for the people.

I am 63.5 years old and I am able to collect social security now but I am not ready to retire. I had been hoping to put in about two more good years of work, maybe four. Now, I am thinking about one thing: beginning my new six-year Job on January 3, 2013. There are two things that might mess that up. You may not hear my message, which would make it tough for me to become your next Senator, or Congress may pick a different start date.  If the folks decide to send me to Congress for six years to serve in the Senate, I can promise two things for sure.  Nobody will own me and I will work for you -- the people of Pennsylvania.

So, why can't I know when I can start working for the people of PA?

Is Brian Kelly a DINO?

Question: Are You a Democrat in Name Only (DINO)?

Answer:  That is a great question.  I may not know the answer to that question but I will tell you how I feel.

A long time ago, when I was a kid, I believed the Democrat party was the party of the people. Though I started out as an Independent, I became a Democrat in my early twenties because of the principles of the Democrat Party. My father believed in those principles and he taught me them at the time from his perspective.

Democrats represented the ordinary people and the Republicans represented business. The people needed good representation from the Democratic Party because business already had the Republicans.

It was that simple until the notions of conservative, liberal, and socialist /Marxist / progressive entered the picture. I am not liberal. I am not socialist. I am conservative. I guess we would have to ask the party leaders if there is room for good ole conservative thinking Democrats in the Party today.

Is Our Government Trying to Kill Us?

Is Our Government Trying to Kill US?

-------

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)
---------
Is this not the same message being delivered today by our magnanimous and beneficent Congress and our beloved, sometimes besmirched President? Are we not continually reassured that they love us, perhaps  even more than we love ourselves.  They know what is right for us.

They are smart people and we should listen to them! They will take care of us because they know what we need and we do not.  They meet behind closed doors so that we are spared knowing how dumb we really are.  They are just protecting us if only we knew. But then again, "No one knows what goes on behind closed doors!"

Ladies and gentlemen, the paragraph above is the essence of progressivism. If we were not so dumb, we would know that and we would know that our elite leaders do what they must against our will because they know, left on our own we would do something dumb.

Is Healthcare a Right?

Should your neighbor pay for your healthcare?

Healthcare must be a right, and not a privilege in a free scoiety!  How can it not be? Why should some have healthcare and others not have healthcare? What should somebody have a car and somebody else not have a car? Why should somebody be handsome and somebody else have to sneak up on a glass of water?

Current thinking suggests that it is far better for everybody to have 1/4 strength healhcare than for 1/4 of the population to be forced to get their care from clinics and ER programs. The latter in the US is called no healthcare. The latter in East Inkastinkastan is "thank God the Lord heard our prayers."

Are these issues not at the center of the debate about who gets the bounty produced by the working people of America?  In days gone by there would have been no dispute. The employees who earned the paycheck would get to spend their own paycheck. For lack of better terms, it was their own bounty. In days gone by, if you earned it, you kept it.

Today, the government wants those who work to give their healthcare benefit to somebody else who is nondescript but needy. The person is most probably not not among the working class. Keeping your own family's healthcare has ecome a political issue. Why would you not want to give up your healthcare so somebody else, not as well-off as you can have what you have had all your life? Isn't about time you learned how important it is to share the pain?

Is Bob Casey a Good Senator for PA

Question: Is Bob Casey a Good Senator for Pennsylvania?

Answer:  Until about 2008, it did not matter that much to me and perhaps many others whether the son of one of the finest Governors of Pennsylvania was a good Senator or a even a good man.  Life was easy in the US and nobody in PA was giving Bob Casey Jr. a reason to show why he was the best or the worst for the state.

Then, as Barack Obama entered the national stage, Casey began to carry the water full time for candidate Barack Hussein Obama. Many of us could not figure why as Hillary Clinton appeared the best candidate for Democrats and she was from Scranton, Casey's home town. It no longer mattered what people in Pennsylvania thought. Casey chose to be out of synch with those in his home town of Scranton and the rest of NEPA.

My own opinion is that Bob Casey Jr.'s recent interests are someplace other than Pennsylvania. I had the same quandry running against Paul Kanjorski. Northeastern PA.

Americans for Tax Reform suggested to Rep. Kanjorski days before the bill came up in the house that it would cost Pennsylvanians $636.7 Billion if Cap-and-Trade were passed. They urged the Congressman, who represented five counties in our state, many in which coal and gas (both carbon fuels) are "mined," and certainly many areas of the state use coal to fire their electric plants. The cost to Pennsylvanians ws estimated as a huge number that we would be paying through higher taxes and forever higher energy costs. Why would Congressman Kanjorski vote in such a way as to hurt Pennsylvanians? Who knows why he did what he did? Lou Barletta creamed him in the general election of 2010 and he was sent packing.

How Bad is US Healthcare?

US Healthcare Is the Best! Period!

I received an email that spooked me only because it might be true.  It might not be true either.  Snopes, a very liberal site has not made a declaration on the matter which means it may very well be true. However, I cannot find it at Investor's Business Daily. Only they and your hairdressor probably know for sure

Right or wrong, it captures the fear that many of us have of turning our fate to the god called government from the God called Jesus Christ or some other just and peac-fostering God.

US Healthcare Is the Best! Period!

Did I already say that? When has the government been the best provider of anything. How many people do you know with knee and hip replacements?  How about treatment for cancer? How many go untreated?  How many survive? How about diabetes.  Physicans are checking sugar levels all the time and they are nipping this in the bud ahead of time for those who get checkups. American HealthCare is the best and our doctors are the best in the world. Look at the dignataries from across the world in which socialist healthcare is practiced. They come here because we are the best. We are the best because it matters.

There is a lot to this healthcare thing but the government's proposal is to make the government the king of healthcare and we know who is looking to be the king of the government. I regret that it is a man who calls himself Barack.

Initiation, Referendum, & Recall

Initiative, Referendum, and Recall

Initiative, Referendum, and Recall are fundamental precepts of a direct democracy. Ours of course is a representative democracy with a Constitution as a defining document just in case the lawmakers in all branches ever were to go astray -- all at the same time.  With three branches of government, one would think that the parts could keep honesty and the people's business at the top of their lists.  Instead, being Democrat or Republican appears to be more important today than being a good representative whether in the House, the Senate, the Presidency, or even the Supreme Court.

And, so, it sure seems that rather than separation of powers, we now have collusion by party. The party's influence is only to help in the elections and then the good of the country is supposed to prevail.  The party affiliations should be left in the outside area of the Halls of Congress. Since Barack Hussein Obama  became President, the attack on the Constitution has gaines strength as I regret to say this President does not appear to like the fundamental precepts which makes america America. He has decided to change them by hook, but mostly by crook!

There is a fundamental breakdown in our democracy and it is happening right now.  With a President who would prefer socialism or communism to capitalism, this is not the time to be having a constitutional crisis, yet that is precisely what is happening. Government has stopped honoring the spirit and the hard copy precepts of the Constitution.

How to Fix Congress!!!

Start Fixing Congress Forever By Replacing It Today!

My Name is Brian Kelly.  I am not the coach of Notre Dame.  I am from Pennsylvania and I am running for the Senate of the United States of America to help return government tothe people.

I support the idea of an eight point fix for Congress, and this is just the start..

I found the note below  in my email box and then I found a discussion of the topic on the Web.

http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/this-is-how-you-fix-congress/blog-187687/

Representing the people is not and never was intended to be a career.  The current system creates politicians from ordinary people when they choose to be in Congress for life representing their personal aspirations and careers instead of representing the people.

What is in this idea on how to fix Congress not to like?

If I gain the favor of the people in the 2012 primary election and again in the general election, one of my first acts will be to introduce a bill that has this language or very very very similar language into the US Senate.

Remember this key point. Fixing Congress starts at home! Harry Reid is not the only one to be replaced, and worse than that, he has four more years left. It starts right here in Pennsylvania. Robert P. Casey Jr. has not served the people of Pennsylvania. He has served himself. And, that is too bad for all of us.

How Brian Kelly Plans to Win!

How I Plan To Win the Election!

In the 2010 election for Congress, the press asked me to comment on how I planned to win the primary election against well financed opponents Paul Kanjorski and Corey O'Brien.  I recognized that the  road was uphill I had confidence that the people are looking for honest government and a fresh start. I knew I represented both.

At the time, I believed that the key to winning the election was to get the message out that I was a very capable person but still a very regular citizen with no political entanglements. Like all the people in Northeaster Pennsylvania, I was convinced that it was time to abandon machine politics and bring honest government back to the people.  One of my quotes in the electon of 2010 was as follows:

"In fact, for the poor job they did,  it would be great if all 435 representatives were replaced. But, it all starts at home."

Now I am running for the Senate. I am far better prepared than I was at the time, and if I were to rewrite the quote above, it would look like this:

"In fact, for the poor job they did,  it would be great if all 100 Senators were replaced, but since only about 33 of them run every two years, let's see if we can replace 34 this time. But, it all starts at home."

Back in 2010, to help answer the media inquiry on how my under $5,000 self financed campaign could be successful, I wrote a response to answer that question. The full text is included below.  From the next paragraph forward, these were all press quotable points from then House candidate Kelly.  In this response I explain how I planned to get my message out,  why I expected that my message would be heard, and why I expected to win without accepting any contributions.

Healthcare Redistribution

HealthCare Redistribution: Rationing By Any Other Name Would Be Rationing!

Essay by Brian Kelly

Finally, there is a real explanation of the new form of health care rationing that is eventually coming as a result of the2700 page Obamacare bill that passed over a year ago. To explain this monster 2700 page bill in laymen’s terms with regard to its effect on rationing took me about thirteen pages single spaced in MS Word format. Click here to get a PDF version that you can print easily if you choose to do so.

Consider this section the preamble of the essay. Before I begin the actual work in explaining rationing and redistribution, please permit me a few paragraphs for some set up time.  There are some prerequisite notions that will help us all understand this giant bill. The pattern I use in the essay is to explain new terms in line, rather than ask you to take a link. Unfortunately, as you read, it is possible to lose the train of the main essay as a side issue is explained. To help avoid this, I use an italic font to cover the side issues.

Places in which you may see this include, for example, Medicaid and EMTALA which have been in place for years. In a side discussion I point out that there was no pressing need for Obamacare per se because these two programs were an adequate safety net for the legal and illegal population and I take you through that. I also take you through the fact that Obamacare does provide some benefit over what has been the system for years, though at far too great a cost than need be.

For example, Obamacare contains a preexisting condition stipulation as well as policy dollar limits. These two notions could have been implemented with a several page bill. None of the changes to the existing system required 2700 pages of freedom-stealing regulations and special favors written into the law for Obama campaign supporters. . So, already you can see we have been off-track and on-track because this is a complicated topic. Now let us begin.

The main essay goes like this:

Machine Politics And Corruption

No Machine Politics

I think the time is ripe for change -- but not a change in our form of government. A change in representation to the Senate is the right thing to do. The House has been fixed by the people but the Senate is still broken. In my run for COngress in 2010, I rufused to take a dime in contributions and I promised to keep my distance from the corrupt political machine . Let's take a trip back now so we can have a fresh persepctive on the notion of machine politics:

Machine Politics

The Omaha Project is an effective vehicle used by Omaha Public Schools to teach subjects such as history and the history of bad politics. The following is from the Omaha Project:

"Machine politics surreptitiously controlled every urban center of the late 19th century. Based on the traditional system of patronage and usually controlled by a boss, the driving force behind a political machine is the ability of elected public officials to do favors for constituents typically in the form of employment and contracts in exchange for votes.

"Election fraud was rampant and usually ordained by the bosses themselves. In fact, "Big Tim" Sullivan, a New York City ward boss who reportedly rewarded "repeat voters" by giving them a new pair of shoes was quoted as saying...

"When you’ve voted ‘em with their whiskers on, you take ‘em to a barber and scrape off the chin fringe. Then you vote ‘em again… Then to a barber again, off comes the sides and you vote ‘em a third time with the mustache… [Then] clean off the mustache and vote ‘em plain face. That makes every one of ‘em for four votes.”
by Mary Beth Norton, et al. In A People and a Nation: A History of the United States, 6th ed. (Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 2001), 537.

"By far, Boss Tweed of Tammany Hall was the most notorious city boss of the era and of all American history for that matter. He is depicted in, literally, thousands of cartoons; most of which are concerned with his corruption and indulgence."

How Is the US Doing?

Things Are Not Really So good!

Some people think the war on terror is over and our enemies have decided to be nicer to us.  This blind-eye notion is offset by the reality of today. Remember the Fort Hood Massacre, the Underwear Bomber? Gabrielle Giffords, the former was a radical Muslim terrorist and the latter a radical Muslim terrorist and the last a goofy left wing liberal. Surely this is chance coincidence.  The former killed 13 and wounded dozens on a huge Army base that is home to over 57,000 soldiers.  The middle was able to get on a plane along with 80 grams of PETN in his shorts.

On January 8, 2011, Giffords was shot in the head outside a Safeway grocery store in Casas Adobes, Arizona, a suburban area northwest of Tucson, during her first "Congress on Your Corner" gathering of the year. A man ran up to the crowd and began firing, hitting nineteen people of whom six died; a twentieth person was injured at the scene, but not by gunfire. None of this should be tolerated by America.

The suspect, identified as Jared Lee Loughner, a known goofer, was detained by bystanders until he was taken into police custody. The Feds charged Loughner with killing federal government employees, attempting to assassinate a member of Congress, and attempting to kill federal employees. Why a piece of scum like him gets any press time is a negative tribute to how bad things have gotten in America.

Giffords's Congressional intern, sharp as a tack, Daniel Hernandez Jr., provided first aid assistance to her immediately after she was wounded. He saved her life. She was taken to the University Medical Center of Tucson in critical condition, though she was still conscious and "following commands" at the time. What a phenomenally resiliant person!

Healthcare Rationing Can Be Very Frightening

Healthcare Rationing -- Inevitible with Obamacare!

Sometimes would it not be nice if we could all be as smart as the legislators and the bureaucrats in Washington think they are?

Regarding healthcare, let's be clear:

Neither the Chinese nor the Russians have come forward to fund what was on the table for so long in 2010 in the House or the Senate. Even they cannot afford the perversion that is being forced upon US.

Who of course would be the only ones capable to administer a system of rationing and distribution of the most vital care we can need -- the care of our health.  That's your health, your husband's or wive's, your father or mother's, your sons or daughters, your nephews or nieces, your uncles or aunt's.  It's not over even then because of course there are still those pesky best friends who need healthcare.

Who is up to the task?  Only the Central Planners in Washington D.C., of course.  They can get some consulting help from a large contingent of Russians who lost their Central Planning plositions back in the late 1980's when Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev together helped move Russia from its Communist roots to something better.

Good Government Service-- an Oxymoron!

Good Government Service Is an Oxymoron!

Big Government doesn't work. In fact when anything gets too big, including huge corporations and huge unions, they cease to work. The Founders devised a system of imited government, which our politicians have cast aside to feather their own nests, and the nests of the lobbyists who supply their feathers.

The last thing that Americans need is for government to run anything. So now, an organization that cannot run anything should be entrusted to run healthcare for all of us. Somebody is kidding, right!  Perhaps I should correctly attributed it -- Obamacare.  When have you ever gotten good government service?  This next statement may be a big surprise to a lot of good people but, here it is anyway:  The whole contraption called government from city to county to state to federal is not designed for excellence. Sorry!

Think about it in the healthcare context from the experience you have had when looking for service in other areas.  Once they take over, the next step is you won't be able to get what ever it was that you had before they took it over. If they run healthcare, it will be the end of care. .

When I was at the state offices in Harrisburg in 2010 to process my signatures (nomination petition), there was a big line of people and just a few servers.  It was the typical bureaucracy scenario. The line was moving slowly. All of a sudden after finishing with a client, one of the servers, clearly exasperated from having served the public non stop for at least minutes since coming back from lunch, got up and said, sorry folks I am outta here.

Cap and Trade -- A Hoax on Americans

A brief political essay by

Brian Kelly

On June 26, 2009, a bit before Congress  took its summer break, the House of Representatives in the 111th Congress snuck through the infamous Carbon Cap and Trade bill.  Though this bill is not named in such a way as to appear to affect anybody in a bad way, it really does.  It affects you and I.  Many who have analyzed the bill see this potentially as the largest tax increase ever to befall the American people. It is better named "The Energy Tax Bill."

The good news for those who have not been keeping up is that the Senate never passed the bill and so it is dead since the 112th Congress will never bring it up. However, after we describe what this monstorsity actually is and how Nancy Pelosi rammed it down the throats of all Americans, we will tell you how the President and his Czars have the power to end-run Congress and create the bill out of thin air in the fashion of a dictatorial state.  Hopefully, with Castro stepping down, Obama will eventually find the right place for him and his ideas.

 What's the story, Jerry?

The story is that scientists suggest that if all of the cost of the Cap and Trade bill are collected and all of the benefits are received, in one hundred years, the impact on the earth would be to slow down climate change by a mere 6 hours. Trillions of dollars for 6 hours of relief is not a good deal. Meanwhile China's smokestacks are ablaze. They are more interested in being the world's most industrialized nation--a position once held by the US when we had good leadership, and when the American government was working for Americans.

George Says Our Tax System Ain't Fair!

It Ain't Fair!

Right after I wrote a short essay a year or so ago on the American Tax System. my e-mailbox was graced with this note from George.

Who is George?

I think George is John and Jane's long lost brother who has come to life after taking the cattle prod from the Congress one time too many.

Let's let George say it!

Subject: My Feelings ON Our Income Tax System

Broken, complicated, corrupted, expensive, destructive and unfair are the words that best describe  the federal income tax system after almost a hundred years of being treated like the personal piggy bank of tax lobbyists and members of Congress.

This is not simple pigsty but one that is so complex it cost taxpayers and American businesses more  than $300 billion last year in paperwork costs,  alone, before a penny of tax was paid. What people owe but don't pay amounted to more than $350 billion last year—a shortfall that, to make up, increased the average taxpayer's bill by more than a third.

Greed Is the Secret for Returning Jobs to America!

Bringing Back US Jobs from Offshore -- Greed Is the Answer!

"Corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will follow, and the money power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the people until all wealth is aggregated in a few hands and the Republic is destroyed."

Who do you think said this? Could it be: Barack Obama?  George Bush?  Ronald Reagan?  Sean Hannity? Whoopi Goldberg,  Katie Couric?  If not the famous, then who?  Tom Stites, the author of one of my sources for this piece thinks that the inflammatory rhetoric may "sound like a protester railing against the World Trade Organization?"  Then he inquires as I just did in these words:

"Think again. These are the words of a successful corporate lawyer who represented railroads before becoming President of the United States. They resonate for many people in this era of Enron, when huge hot-stock corporations have cooked deals with the aid of their auditors and Wall Street bankers to enrich executives at the expense of their employees and shareholders, when corporate lobbyists and campaign donors so often have their way despite the interests of the voters, and when Federal Reserve figures show that the top 1 percent of U.S. households controls 38 percent of the nation's wealth. But these words... But these words were written in an 1864 letter, by Abraham Lincoln."

Culture Crisis -- Yes! Healthcare Crisis -- No!

Dear Mr. President,

This ought to be on the front page of every newspaper in America -- in large bold letters. This was a "letter to the editor" in an August  Jackson MS newspaper.

Pictured below is a young physician by the name of Dr. Starner Jones. His short two-paragraph letter to the White House accurately puts the blame on a "Culture  Crisis" instead of a "Health Care Crisis".  It's worth a quick read:

Dear Mr. President:

During my shift in the Emergency Room last night,  I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone. While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that her payer status w as listed as "Medicaid"!    During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer.

Do we really need the change?

Do We Really Need the Change?

In a word, "yes."

As you can see by the young picture of a relatively unknown by the name of Barry Soetoro, we can all change. And, if you don't have a heck of a lot in your pocket, you can also HOPE.

Back in 2008, just about everybody in the country felt that we needed change from the policies of the Bush Administration. Yet, the more Obama we get, the better George Bush's presidency is beginning to look.

If I can inject a little humor here, now that we are into the 2011 / 2012 campaign season, there has been so much BHO, GWB would probably get reelected for a third term if he ran against Obama. My Dog Ben, or my Cat Buddy, would probably get elected if BHO were the opponent. That's how bad the change has been and continues to be.

Unfortunately for Americans but fortunately for BOH, there is no specific term for somebody who makes excuses or has alibis all the time. But the time for Obama to rejoice has not yet come on this one since where there is a void, there is an opportunity.

Getting On the Ballot in PA - Whew!

A system designed by and for politicians

When I ran for Congress a year ago, and I chose not to accept a dime of contributions, I thought I had access to a local radio show to tell the world that I had decided to pick up the torch and run for Congress.  I wrote up my proposal as best as I could and sent it in and said that I would be available.  I figured it was news and I would get free coverage.  The best laid plans of mice and men gang oft aglay!

My objective was to tell the listenership that a regular person from Pennsylvania, one of the almost 700,000 in District 11, and 12,500,000 statewide, was going to run for Congress.  That week, I drove to Luzerne County voter services, paid my parking fee,  only to find that the congressional petitions were available only from the state office in Harrisburg.

No Contributions over $100.00, Please!

Brian Kelly believes that a candidate for people's representative for Congress should not have to be beholden to any person or group of people and so campaign contributions are being limited to $100.00.  Please do not send any contributions in excess of this so that the candidate can avoid the expense of sending checks back uncashed. When the Web site is operational for accepting credit card contributions, it will have the limit built-in Thank you.

Constitution of the United States

The Constitution of the United States of America

When I penned the groundbreaking book, Taxation Without Representation in 2008, I had read many of the founding documents of the United States.  One of the first things that I did in preparation for the book was print a copy of the Constitution on 81/2 X 11 paper and take it with me on my first cruise.  I was not sure what I really was going to do but like many Americans I was fed up with politics as usual.  The Constitution is not an onerous document. It is much more readable than the type of gotcha bills coming out of Congress today.

When I finished the book, I decided, among other founding documents to place the full text of the U.S. Constitution within the book as an appendix.   Without you having to buy any of my books, (I also put it in my Obama's Seven Deadly Sins Book), I have also placed the full text of the U.S. Constitution right here in this article and at the end of this article, there is a URL so that you can go to a government Web site to see any of the founding documents.

Enjoy the written voice of freedom, directly from the books. It is a great read. It is our US Constitution.

Being a Conservative Democrat

Being A Conservative Democrat

Essay by Brian Kelly

You may wonder why I am a conservative Democrat instead of a conservative Republican? The fact is that neither party is perfect for me.  I am for business but not for unbridled corporate power.  I am for unions but not thug tactics in the workplace and I am not for forced unionism.  I think the Union leaders should have enough moxie to convince people that unions are good. If they can't do that, then what does that say about them? I think we all should hold them accountable for thuggery.

I worked for IBM for 23 years and at the time, IBM never had nor needed a union. Corporations should treat workers right and unions should be for the workers and should not be on the same team as the managers.  At IBM, the founders believed that if you take care of the people, the people will take care of the business. It worked! Neither union leaders nor union thugs were ever needed at IBM. What do union leaders say about IBM?

I am pro-life and though some legislators forget this, deep down most Americans are pro-life. I do not believe in protecting smelts and trees and mushrooms and barnacles, if their protection causes harm to human beings. God made human beings with dominion over all life, and though we are assigned caretakership of this awesome responsibility, it should not mean that humans must starve or be cold or freeze in the wintertime. In many ways some of the great ambitions of the Democratic Party leaders to create an equal world, where there is no injustice, has placed human beings per se in the back seat and has elevated non-humans to a status not intended by God.

Catching Wild Pigs - US

Subject: CATCHING WILD PIGS!!!

This is another of those emails that may or may not be totally true that conjures up a fear in me enough to be willing to leave my wonderful nest in Wilkes-Barre PA and go to Washington to help keep us all free.  Here is the email story that you may very well have seen.  This is an important message.

A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter.

The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting Communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government..

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor  and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'
